Team Manager

The Team Manager is a vital part of our Little League community, serving as the leader, organizer, and positive role model for their team. This volunteer ensures that players, coaches, and families have a fun, safe, and supportive season focused on learning, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and oversee all team activities, including practices, games, and team meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with players, parents, coaches, and league officials.
  • Ensure that all players receive fair opportunities to learn and participate.
  • Promote and model good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for all players, umpires, and opponents.
  • Work closely with assistant coaches and team parents to manage logistics such as schedules, uniforms, and field prep/cleanup.
  • Uphold league rules, safety protocols, and code of conduct standards.
Qualities of a Great Team Manager:
  • Positive attitude: Leads with enthusiasm and encourages players through both wins and losses.
  • Role model: Demonstrates respect, patience, and integrity; setting the tone for players and parents alike.
  • Organized and dependable: Keeps the season running smoothly with clear communication and planning.
  • Supportive mentor: Helps each player build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the game.
Time Commitment:
  • 2-3 nights per week during the season (practices and games).
Training and Background Check:
  • All volunteers need to undergo a background check
  • All coaches need to complete Abuse Awareness Training provided by Little League

Assistant Coach

The Assistant Coach plays an essential role in helping the Team Manager create a positive, fun, and safe environment where players can develop their skills and love for the game. This volunteer supports coaching duties, encourages players, and helps ensure every child has a great Little League experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Team Manager in planning and running practices, games, and team activities.
  • Help teach players the fundamentals of baseball; emphasizing teamwork, effort, and improvement.
  • Encourage and motivate players with positive feedback and patience.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, respect, and a team-first attitude at all times.
  • Support game-day operations, such as organizing drills, managing lineups, keeping players engaged and focused, and field prep/cleanup.
  • Communicate positively with players, parents, and fellow coaches.
Qualities of a Great Coach:
  • Positive role model: Sets an example through enthusiasm, respect, and integrity.
  • Supportive and dependable: Works closely with the Team Manager to create a cohesive coaching team.
  • Encouraging mentor: Focuses on helping each player learn, grow, and have fun regardless of skill level.
  • Team-oriented: Understands that success comes from collaboration, not competition.
Time Commitment:
  • 2-3 nights per week during the season (practices and games).

Snack Bar

Snack Bar Volunteers help keep our Little League community energized and smiling! This role supports the operation of the concession stand during games and events. You will be serving snacks, handling sales, and creating a friendly, welcoming environment for families and fans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers and serve food and drinks.
  • Handle cash or digital payments responsibly.
  • Communicate with the Snack Bar Coordinator to restock supplies.
  • Keep the snack bar area clean and organized.
  • Assist with setup and closing duties as needed.
  • Promote a positive, family-friendly atmosphere at the field.
Time Commitment:
One night every other week (or more as your schedule allows) during games or events.

Background Check:
All volunteers need to undergo a background check

Why Volunteer?
Volunteering in the snack bar is a fun and easy way to support the league, meet other families, and be part of the excitement on game day. Bring your child with you for a safe and easy venue to teach your child about responsibility, communicating with others, customer service, and money handling. Every shift helps keep our Little League running strong and full of community spirit!

Umpire

Umpires are essential to every Little League game! As a volunteer umpire, you’ll help ensure that games are played fairly, safely, and with great sportsmanship. Umpires enforce the rules of the game, promote respect among players and coaches, and help create a positive gameday experience for everyone. This is a rewarding role for anyone who enjoys the game and wants to make a meaningful impact on the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Officiate games in accordance with Little League rules and guidelines.
  • Maintain control of the game while promoting fair play, respect, and sportsmanship.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with players, coaches, and other officials.
  • Ensure player safety by enforcing rules consistently and fairly.
  • Participate in pre-game briefings and assist with basic field setup if needed.
  • Demonstrate composure, confidence, and impartiality in all situations.
Qualities of a Great Umpire:
  • Positive and confident: Makes fair, calm decisions and promotes respect for the game.
  • Fair and impartial: Treats all players and teams equally.
  • Focused and observant: Stays attentive to every play and situation.
  • Good communicator: Explains calls clearly and respectfully.
Time Commitment:
Typically 1–2 games per week during the season, depending on availability. Scheduling is flexible. Training and rule guidance are provided—no prior experience required!

Equipment and Support:
All necessary safety and umpire equipment will be provided by the league, including protective gear and uniforms as needed. Umpires also receive rule training, mentorship, and ongoing support from the league’s Umpire-in-Chief or Board of Directors.

Scorekeeper

The Scorekeeper plays an important role in making every game run smoothly and fairly. This volunteer is responsible for keeping track of the game’s score and key statistics for their team's games; either by operating the scoreboard at the field or by using the GameChanger app to record plays and manage the digital scorebook. The Scorekeeper helps ensure that games are accurately recorded and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the electronic scoreboard during games or keep score digitally using the GameChanger app.
  • Accurately record plays, runs, outs, and other game details.
  • Communicate clearly with umpires, coaches, or the scorekeeper from the opposing team as needed.
  • Ensure that scorekeeping is done fairly and in accordance with league rules.
  • Help set up and shut down scoreboard or GameChanger equipment before and after games.
  • Maintain a calm and positive attitude—even during close games!
Qualities of a Great Scorekeeper:
  • Detail-oriented: Pays attention to the game and records information accurately.
  • Positive and composed: Keeps a level head and encourages good sportsmanship.
  • Reliable and punctual: Arrives on time and is ready before the first pitch.
  • Comfortable with technology: (For GameChanger) Able to use a smartphone or tablet app to keep score.
  • Team player: Works well with coaches, umpires, and other volunteers.
Time Commitment:
1-2 games per week. Each game typically lasts 1–2 hours. Training or guidance is provided for new volunteers.

Why Volunteer?
Scorekeeping is a fun and engaging way to be part of the action! You’ll help ensure fairness and accuracy, and contribute directly to a great experience for everyone. This is a great volunteer opportunity for older or younger siblings as it gets them involved and paying attention to the games.

(This role is not available for TeeBall/Coach Pitch)

Team Parent

The Team Parent is the communication hub and behind-the-scenes organizer who helps keep the team running smoothly. This volunteer supports the Team Manager and coaches by coordinating schedules, snack rotations, team events, and communication with families. Team Parents play a key role in creating a positive, organized, and fun experience for players and parents alike!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize team snacks, end-of-season celebrations, and other team activities.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules (e.g., snack bar shifts, field prep, scorekeeping, etc.).
  • Assist with collecting and distributing uniforms, fundraising materials, or team photos as needed.
  • Promote a positive, supportive environment for players, parents, and coaches.
Qualities of a Great Team Parent:
  • Positive and approachable: Keeps communication friendly, clear, and encouraging.
  • Organized and dependable: Manages team details and deadlines efficiently.
  • Supportive team player: Works closely with coaches and other volunteers to ensure a great season.
  • Good communicator: Helps families stay informed and connected throughout the season.
  • Enthusiastic and encouraging: Brings team spirit and positivity to every event.
Time Commitment:
A few hours per week during the season, including coordination before games and occasional team events. Most work can be done by phone, email, or messaging.

Being a Team Parent is a fun and meaningful way to get involved! You’ll help create memorable experiences for players and families, strengthen team spirit, and support the coaches so they can focus on teaching the game. It’s one of the best ways to stay connected and make a difference in your Little League community.

Field Setup and/or Cleanup

Field Setup and Cleanup Volunteers help keep our Little League fields safe, clean, and game-ready! This important role ensures that each game starts and ends smoothly by assisting with basic field preparation and post-game cleanup. It’s a hands-on way to support the teams, show community pride, and make sure players have a great experience every time they take the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Arrive before games to help prepare the field. This includes raking, chalking baselines, setting up bases, and ensuring equipment is ready.
  • Assist with field cleanup after game. This includes raking the mound and batter’s box, dragging the infield, putting away equipment, and emptying trash.
  • Help keep the dugouts and surrounding areas tidy and safe.
  • Ensure all field equipment (rakes, drags, chalkers, bases, etc.) is properly stored after use.
  • Work with coaches, team parents, and league officials to keep the field in great condition throughout the season.
Time Commitment:
Usually 30 minutes before and after each game, depending on field conditions. Volunteers can sign up for specific dates or rotate responsibilities with other families.

Field setup and cleanup are crucial to every Little League game and it’s one of the easiest ways to make a big difference! You’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment for players and fans while supporting the smooth operation of each game. Plus, it’s a great way to get involved, meet other families, and show team pride.

Board Member

Board Members are generally voted on during closing ceremonies for our Spring Season, but new board members are often accepted and voted on mid-season by the current board when someone steps forward with a desire to help out.  There are several individualized jobs the board handles based on the role they accept, but in general, all members work together to make the league better and run smoother.

Key Responsibilities (General):
  • Attend and Participate in monthly board meetings. 
  • Assist with planning registration and league events.
  • Help oversee day-to-day needs during the season.
Time Commitment:
Roughly 2-10 hours per month depending on position.

    • Manages league records, meeting minutes, and board communications
  • Safety Officer
    • Oversees safety program
  • Player Agent
    • Validates player eligibility and manages player draft
  • Information Officer
    • Oversees website content, email communication to the league, and registration process.
  • Coaching Coordinator
    • Organizes Team Managers and Assistant Coaches providing training and resources as needed.
  • Division Directors
    • Oversees the day to day operations and team needs within their assigned division
  • Umpire Coordinator
    • Schedules and supports umpires for games.
  • Field Coordinator
    • Manages field maintenance
  • Snack Bar Coordinator
    • Responsible for the Snack Bar, including stocking and assigning volunteers.
  • Social Media Coordinator
    • Collects and posts content from our parents to our social media profiles
  • Volunteer Coordinator
    • Oversees and organizes volunteers
  • At-Large Member
    • Assists with general league needs and supports league projects as needed.
